Centre for Chronic Diseases of Ageing

The Centre for Chronic Diseases of Ageing, Woolcock Institute of Medical Research have established a Consumer Advisory Panel. Our vision is to reduce the burden of sleep and respiratory disorders in ageing. Our mission is to undertake world-class research through meaningful and collaborative relationships with members of the community. Hearing the valuable experiences of individuals living with sleep and respiratory disorders will shape our research.

Our panel consists of 12 members with lived experience of sleep or respiratory disorders including caregivers and family members. The panel works collaboratively with researchers and clinicians to provide insights into the Iived experience of sleep and respiratory disorders and to steer new avenues of research for better person-centred outcomes. We have had successful engagement with our consumer advisory panel, leading to positive changes which have shaped our studies and grant applications.
