Professor Thu Anh Nguyen is an epidemiologist and a social scientist by training, with more than 20 years of experience. She holds an honorary position as Senior Clinical Lecturer at University of Sydney, and is head of the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Vietnam, where she has led a team of over 60 staff from three offices.

She has been an investigator for clinical trials on treating tuberculosis (TB), preventive treatments for latent TB infection, mHealth technologies for adherence support to TB treatment, and health system interventions to decrease the burden of chronic lung disease and antimicrobial resistance.
