At the heart of all thriving medical research institutes are early-to-mid career researchers (EMCR). Woolcock EMCRs are not only the lifeblood of the Institute generating new impactful discoveries in sleep and respiratory disorders, but also critical to building Woolcock’s future.
At this time, we face many challenges and funding rates from traditional peer review sources such as the National Health and Medical Research Council are at an all-time low. Clearly, without enabling our EMCR body to become the next generation of Woolcock leaders, there is no future.
To address this issue we are starting the Woolcock Fellowship Programme where individuals or groups can support an outstanding EMCR.

Ideally, this would be for a 3-5 year period, but a one-year rescue support package for near-miss grants is also critical so the EMCR can re-enter the annual grant cycle.
More information on our fellowship programme can be obtained from our Executive Director Professor Paul Foster via phone or email (paul.foster@woolcock.org.au).
He would welcome any opportunity to discuss ways you or your team can help support our young people.
