Visitors from Vietnam

On Wednesday 2 September, the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research welcomed visitors from Vietnam who were in Sydney to attend the 5th Conference of the Union: Asia Pacific Region.

The group included Dr Nguyen Van Anh, Head of TB Lab at Vietnam National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Dr Nguyen Binh Hoa, the secretary of the National TB program, Dr Nguyen Nhat Linh, WHO head office (he was a PhD student at Woolcock Institute in Sydney), Ms Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong, staff of National Lung Hospital, Dr Nguyen Thi Bich Yen, staff of Pham Ngoc Thach hospital, Dr Trinh Mai, staff of National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Dr Lan, the Director of Pham Ngoc Thach hospital and Ms Nguyen Thi Loi, Luu Boi Khanh, Nghiem Le Phuong Hoa, Dr Jennifer Ho and Dr Greg Fox from the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Vietnam.

Our visitors were welcomed and given a presentation about the Woolcock by Acting Executive Director, Dr Brett Toelle and they also joined a tour of the clinic and laboratory facilities by Professor Paul Young.

Chief Operating Officer, Joanne Elliot and Chief Commercial Officer, Kerstin Baas mingled with the visitors to explain their respective roles within the Woolcock.
