Fundraising success to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) in Vietnam

Did you know that TB kills more people in the world than AIDS? Its prevalence is particularly high in Asia and being the gateway to Australia for many, it is important for us to try and do something about it.  Since 2011, the Woolcock’s respiratory team has been hard at work in Vietnam (an area of highest prevalence) to eradicate the disease.

The Vietnamese-Australian Medical Association and the Lions Club Western Sydney recently hosted a fundraising dinner on Saturday 10 September, attended by over 500 guests, to help raise funds for our research in Vietnam.

We are pleased to announce the event, led by Dr Lieu, raised over $38,000.

We would like to give our sincere thanks to Dr Lieu, the Australian-Vietnamese Medical Association, the Lions Club of Western Sydney, the members of the organising committee and the guests for their generous support.
