2015 Celebratory Dinner for the Faculty of Medicine, Univesity of Sydney

The 2015 Celebratory Dinner for the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine was held last night in MacLaurin Hall. The evening celebrated the achievements of our staff and students who have received significant awards during 2014. The following five people from the Woolcock were acknowledged:

Professor Judy Black: Wunderley Oration Professor Judy Black was nominated by the TSANZ Board to be the Wunderley Orator for 2014.

Dr Roo Killick: Peter Bancroft Prize Dr Killick was awarded this as a Doctor of Philosophy graduate in Sydney Medical School whose thesis was passed by all three examiners without requiring any emendation or amendments.

Associate Professor Greg King: APSR Ann J Woolcock Research Award Associate Professor Greg King was awarded the Ann J Woolcock Research Award 2014 at the 19th Congress of Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) in Bali last year.

Associate Professor Greg King was awarded the Ann J Woolcock Research Award 2014 at the 19th Congress of Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) in Bali last year.   

Professor Guy Marks: Top ranked Research Fellow The National Health and Medical Research Council’s Research Excellence Awards are presented to the top-ranked applicants across NHMRC’s funding schemes. Professor Guy Marks was awarded the Top ranked Research Fellow for his work in understanding lung diseases including tuberculosis, chronic respiratory disease, and the health effects of air pollution.

Kerri Melehan: Presidential Award from the US Endocrine Society Kerri won the Presidential Poster Competition Award at the  International Congress of Endocrinology / Endocrinology Society annual general meeting 2014. This was for her work "Adherent CPAP Improves Erectile and Sexual Function and Quality of Life in Men with OSA and Erectile Dysfunction (ED): A Randomised Sham Controlled Study"

Kerri Melehan: Presidential Award from the US Endocrine Society
