Hope on Horizon for Sinus Sufferers
Sufferers of painful, recurring sinus infections could soon have a new targeted spray treatment thanks to work by researchers at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research. Our team of respiratory specialists have been awarded a $400,000 National Health and Medical Research Council grant to develop a novel and much-needed new treatment for chronic sinus infection.
This will be welcome news for the 16 per cent of Australians that suffer the severe discomfort and pain of recurring sinus infections, triggered when mucus made in the sinuses fails to drain properly.
